CAUTION TO SELLERS  - there are many scammers operating now. If anyone tries to send you a cashier's or bank check for more than the amount of the sale, asking you to return the rest, be VERY careful. You could lose your car and your money! There are many forged cashiers checks going around - be sure to let it clear AND call the bank. Be especially cautious if the buyer is outside the US. Better to use bank wire transfer, and Cash is King.

READ THIS FIRST if you are considering a long-distance buy/sell.

If you sell your car please drop me a note at dmcforsale(AT)dmcnews.com and let me know. Thanks!

1981 Delorean for sale:
I have owned this California car for 3 years. Great original car. Daily
user. 82k well maintained miles. The car is serviced and all parts have
been replaced by the Delorean Motor Center, rated best in USA. No
expense has been spared while I have driven the car. All repairs and
restorations recorded at the DMC Center in California.

I have had occasion to drive many Deloreans and this car is a very good
ride for the following reasons: I’ve had transmission and gearbox
rebuilt, new engine and motor mounts, new center force clutch and
hydrolics, new rear axle, all hoses changed, most bushings, all new
gaskets, new air conditioning pump and alternator. Gas tank has been
replaced, new brakes, new thermostat and water pump, new radiator, new frequency valve, new battery, all new injectors. Recent tune up, new front tires - too many things to mention casually. Full list is
available. Just smogged and registered thru’ Oct 2008.

Only two small items on the minus side – needs radio antenna and has
small crack in speaker grid on passenger side of dash. (see pic)
There are a lot of good-looking Deloreans out there, but this one can
take you anywhere without breaking down. The body is very straight and
clean, doors open/close easily. Interior is in fine condition. Asking
$24,000 or best offer. A very good investment if you consider Delorean
in Texas is bringing out replicas in 2008, starting at $58,000.

Car is in Los Angeles; I am currently out of the country, indefinitely
now, and have a friend dealing with potential buyers. You can direct
all [car] questions to me, Mr. Quick, either by phone or email – or
include your telephone number in an email and I will call you.

The registration for the car was transferred from Beeaje Quick to Tashia Hales prior to him leaving the country a few months ago when he had the intention of selling, but no time to do it.  Tashia can be reached at tashmail@earthlink.net Tashia took all the current pics posted with this ad, however he is ultimately the one who can answer any questions more fully, as a DeLorean enthusiast and owner of this car for the last few years.  If there is a buyer, Tashia is in Los Angeles with the car, and can make the transaction, but he's the one who knows best about the car.

1981 DeLorean for sale in the Olympia area.
I am the 5th owner, and the car is in great shape. I have been using it as my daily driver, and the engine runs awesome. Installed a CD Player in April to replace the stock system. Stainless steel in beautiful condition, except for one dent inferior to the front left wheel well. Some peeling of the powder coating on the windshield framing. Has an alarm system. Asking $23,000.

Have paperwork and work history going back 7 years.

MILEAGE:

Estimated 54,000 Miles (Angle drive went out on her back in April, and was repaired, but in the meantime an estimated 1,500 miles was put on her)

INTERIOR:
Leather: Interior is in very good condition. Leather shows normal wear (in the bunches of the leather the colors been worn and there are minor cracks), but the seats are both great.
Binnacle: The binnacle is cracked in three places (right in the same area), and there is sunburning of the dash. I have a dash cover that I bought about a month ago that I have put in.

ENGINE: Good ol V-6 engine, that purrs like nothing else.
Maintenance: Maintenance has been regularly done with the last oil and filter change done last month.

RECENT REPAIRS:
April 2007 - Replaced the Trunk release cable and had the Rear Angle Drive cable repaired by DMC Northwest June 2007 - Master and Slave clutch cylinders replaced and a complete coolant system hose change. All done by DMC Northwest, and they also readjusted the mixture
of CO2 back to specs.
July 2007 - One of the coolant hoses hadn't been snug with the receiving pipe due to the temperature sensor, and caused the car to be overheated. Repair made by Stolz automotive in Lacey, WA.
August 2007 - Clutch went out on her, and is in the process of being replaced by Stolz Automotive in Lacey.

Work needed:
- Electronic Door lock mechanism on the car needs to be redone, possibly the relay (Car lock works fine with a key on the drivers side, passengers sticks)

- The plate underneath the car below the gas tank has corroded in several places and needs to be replaced.
- Headliners falling down and need to be redone

Why am I selling?
Bought the car in April of this year and absolutely love her.  However, as she's my only car and is my daily commuter, I really can't afford to have her kept off the road for the maintenance and repairs that are required (she is a 26 year old car after all).  In my line of work, I need a more reliable car for my daily driver, and can't have two cars on the road.

My 1981 DeLorean is a Florida native, so it has been free of snow, rock salt, hills and potholes its entire life. I've had it for seven years but now am thinking about a roadster. Wish I had the space to keep the DeLo too.

The DeLorean has been garage kept for all seven years, used only as a Sunday driver so it has been in the best of both worlds: infrequent yet regular use. It is in extremely good condition inside and out.

It is in fine mechanical condition and very reliable -- starts right up every time. It has new brakes and front tires, and fresh oil always. I installed a fuel filter after I bought it from an ex-DEA agent, and also added partial headliner and radio.

The interior is very clean. Push-buttons are a little wobbly but all work. Leather is near perfect. Instrument cover has a couple very small sun cracks but generally in good condition.

Car includes lots of extras: Original window sticker and manual, original tool kit and spare tire, custom DeLorean canvas cover and what's left of my DeLorean car care kit is yours, too.

+++ Also willing to include assorted DeLorean memorabilia and magazines collected over the years -- including AutoWeek's first review. A Best-of-Show trophy from a local show goes with the car, if u want it. (It also captured a Best Silver Car award at the Silver Anniversary of the Broward County, Fla. Fair.)

PRICE: $19,900.

Contact Barry Spyker, automotive columnist for The Miami Herald, at 954-389-6854 for more info or to arrange a look. (car was pictured in a 25-year retrospective I wrote on John Z. and the DeLorean's 25th anniversary)

This is a great running car with good stainless, tankzilla, lockzilla, new door seals, new fuel pump and pick-up (Special-T), new fuel injectors, working R-12 A/c (new clutch), new AM/FM/CD/MP-3 player and much else.  All exterior running lights, door lights, interior lights, and environmental panel have been updated to LEDs.  We've also repalced the oil pressure sending unit, reste the valves, new valve covers, intake manifold seals, It has a fresh ingnition harness, and +4 plugs.  The brakes have been gone through, including stainless steel flexible brake lines and rebuilt cylindars.  We've added a heat shield over the catalytic converter, and new bushing for steering column, and an air dam to protect the fuel tank. It has a stainless steel coolant bottle and automatic air bleeer for cooling system.  I've spent a lot of time and money making this car excellent for every-day driving.  I have no quams about getting in it and driving to San Francsico and back (about 800 miles) or anywhere else at a moment's notice.  Its a peleasure to drive on long trips and around town.
