Care & Feeding - Consumable Parts

The PRV-6 engine was not specially designed for the DeLorean although some minor modifications were made to mount it in the reverse configuration and to mate it with the DeLorean chassis. These modifications consist primarily of parts such as the oil pan which one would not expect to require replacing. The engine was used in several production cars (mostly for the european markets). There are several cross references for the oil filter (one I believe is from a VW Rabbit!) and the other filters (like the fuel filter) rely on standard Bosch components.

Cross reference items for many of the usual consumable items are generally known in the DeLorean community. One resource for looking up and tracking cross reference parts and for a general parts diagram of the car is the DMC Parts Reference Database available online.
