Yes, the louvres are the same height as the roof (at least mine is).

When I took mine off, replacing it caused the same problem. It looks like
the right side is lower than the left. First, grad a friend to give you a
hand... Lift the louvres and loosen the 4 bolts that hold it to the hinges
(just enough so you can be moved when it's lowered). Then, lower it and see
if it can be adjusted enough to fit the way you want it to. If this works,
lift the louvres up slowly and tighten the bolts.

Here's one for the books...

I was driving down the road and I noticed that each time I hit a small bump,
the tachometer would drop to 0 and the oil pressure guage would drop to 0.
Then, it would come back the next time I hit a bump. At one point, both
gauges spun around 360 degrees! I knew if the speedometer did that, I would
surely break the time/space barrier. From the looks of it, it's a loose
sensor somewhere. Anyone have an idea?

I just reaturned from the NCDMC Gullwing Extravaganza.
In a word, it was awesome.

My numbers may be off, but we had around 25 DeLoreans,
10 Bricklins and 4 or 5 Mercedes Gullwings in
attendance. (It is seldom you see one Mercedes
Gullwing outside of a museum, let alone 4 or 5
immaculately restored cars.)

Speaking of museums, the Blackhawk Auto Museum is
truly magnificent. The collection takes your breath
away. Then, they allowed us a very special luxury of
parking our cars in the patio in front of the museum
to take pictures. (BTW, this is not something they do
all the time. I was there a couple of years ago and a
Corvette gathering was forced to park in the remote
lot while our DeLoreans were allowed on the patio that
time, as well.)
Our Friday banquet was served in the Museum,
surrounded by literally millions of dollars worth of
cars. What an experience.

The winery tour was nice. The tour of the USS Hornet
was very impressive. The weekend included the usual
"show & shine"/concours and tech talks plus vendor
tables.

Kudos to Ken Montgomery and his friends in the NCDMC
for being gracious hosts and putting on a very fun
weekend.

BTW, another 2500 miles on the D for this trip and it
again ran like a top. We put 900 miles on in one day
so you know we were "getting the carbon out". Geez,
this is a really fun road car.

OK...So on my day off, I am driving my Delorean around Bedminster NJ (About
10 mintues from where I live) taking some photos. I was in front of a store
just finishing a picture, when a Green SUV pulls up next to me...the
passenger rolls down the window and says "Hey...Nice Car." I immediately
shook his hand with a BIG grin, and said "Thanks....THANKS FOR MAKING IT!"

Thats right, I bumped into none other then....John Z. Delorean! He and his
daughter were driving by and he told me he could not resist stoping to talk!

I know his estate used to be right around the corner, and he still lived in
the area, but NEVER expected to meet him like this!!!!!!

WOW!

Since I had the camera and tripod......I asked him for a photo with me, him
and my car! Check it out!!!!

I was like a kid talking to Santa at the Mall...I was so shocked that I ran
into him, that I could not even strike up a converstation (he probobly
thinks i have a mental condition!)

Jay, Have you taken the cover off the relay and checked the contacts.
Can you hear the relay click on and not click off. If you have tried
this and the lights stay on, then the push button head light switch
is not working properly. I can normally fix that.

Wow, that's a pretty awesome story! Has that ever happened to anyone before, a spontaneous JZD meeting while driving your DeLorean? I'm sure it has but it has to be pretty rare.

Think my best caption for this is:

1983 Delorean: $14,000
Sony Digital Camera: $495
Tripod from Walmart: $24.95

Having all three of the above when you accidentally bump into John Delorean:
PRICELESS!

I have posted my 1981 DeLorean for sale a while ago and I haven't had much
success selling it so I have reduced the price. It is a 5 Speed, with gray
leather, and has about 33,000 miles on it. I am only asking $15,900 and it
is in great shape. If you are interested and want a more detailed
description with lots of pictures, go to my web site at:
