I hope in the kit is new pistons. When you take it apart you will
probably find the plating flaking off of the old pistons. If so, DO
NOT REUSE THE OLD PISTONS. You should be able to clean up the bores of
the calipers with a hone but you MUST replace the seals and usually
the piston. You may also have to replace the bleeder nipples if they
are really bad. In many cases it may make more sense to just trade you
old calipers to one of the venders for a set of rebuilts. If the pads
aren't too worn you can get away with reusing them but use new
anti-squeal shims and springs. You should also get new rubber caps for
the bleeder screws to keep the water and dirt out.

Jump the wires going to the otterstadt switch with a paper clip. Turn
the key on. If the fans don't run then it is one of the following:
bad circuit breaker
bad fan fail relay or bypass wire burnt
wiring problem
bad fan motors
For the high idle make sure that the throttle is returning all the way
to the idle position, the arm hits the idle micro and makes it click
you fix all the vacuum leaks, the link from the throttle spool to the
throttle plates isn't worn out. Check that all the vacuum hose are
routed correctly, not leaking, cracked or split.

Replaced the governor, vacuum modulator, applied the major tuneup kit
for automatics, flushed the fuel lines, and replaced the control
pressure regulator. Now I have two new symptoms, everyone - give me
your best ideas.

As a former automotive component producer, prototypes were produced as revisions, so I believe that its possible that the 500 number was for revision purposes and not for actual prototypes. Therefore only a small number of actual black cars were produced then modified and assigned another revision number.

Scott,

Just a crazy thought on my part. How about you put the magazines on a
shelf and open one per month?

My guess is that would be easier than modifying the production schedules
of each DeLorean related publication.

Please take this post in the humorous nature intended.

Bryan

I must be the only one, but I think it looks ridiculous. I guess I've
just never understood how someone can "update the look" of a car that
looks exactly how it's designed to look.

The DeLorean is a work of art. It was designed by an extremely
talented automobile designer. This is one of the few cars on the road
that actually look like every piece was put into place intentionally.
The headlights look like they were designed for the car, and vice
versa. In a day when pop-up headlights and sealed beams were popular,
accomplishing that task was pure genius.

You may like the look of the car or you may not, but if you've been
convinced that it's outdated, then someone's trying to sell you
something. A good work of art never goes out of style.
